Dr. Iris Quan / Partner, TSVC Capital

Dr. Iris Xiaohong Quan is a Professor of Entrepreneurship in the Lucas College and Graduate School of Business at San Jose State University. She holds a PhD from the University of California at Berkeley, and was a SPRIE Fellow at Stanford University.  Her research interests are in the fields of entrepreneurship, and technology and innovation management. She teaches both MBA and undergraduate students in the field of entrepreneurship.

Outside academia, Dr. Quan is an Investment Partner at TSVC (formerly TEEC Angel Fund), an early-stage deep tech-focused venture capital firm in Silicon Valley. TSVC has invested over 150 startups including five unicorns such as Zoom which went IPO in 2019. Dr. Quan has investment interests in education sector and healthcare sector, and her recent investments include Lambda School, Maui Imaging, among others.

She has served on the IEEE Technology Management Society Administrative Committee, and acted as Program Chair for several IEEE conferences including TEMSCON and ISIE. She sits on the editorial boards of a few academic journals such as IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management.  Dr. Quan is a member of the steering committee of Silicon Valley Center for Entrepreneurship at San Jose State University, and has been a judge for Silicon Valley Business Plan Competition, Silicon Valley Innovation Challenge, etc.
